I’d love to work with you to make your book even better. Click here to contact me.
Why do you need an editor?
Many people seem to have the (mistaken) impression that an editor will change your work, even ruin your work, perhaps because of some strict rules only they are aware of, or according to their own personal taste, or maybe some other nefarious reason. But nothing could be further from the truth. The entire job of the editor is to make your work the very best it can be. To make it shine. To figure out what you’re trying to say, and to help you say it exactly the way you want to say it.
After earning an MFA in film production and spending 20+ years as an editor in the film industry, I know how story works. And I can help you make yours better, so you can sell more books. See how that works?
What will it be like working with me?
First you’ll send me a representative chapter or section from your book and I’ll send it back to you with notes. If you think the notes are helpful and will make your book better, I’ll give you a cost estimate for your project and we’ll put it on the calendar. I’ll deliver your edited draft to you within a time frame that we work out together. And remember, any suggestions or changes I make to your draft can be ignored if you choose. You’re in charge!
Send me an email and we’ll take it step by step.
Excerpt from a recent client email:
The improvements you’ve made to the text is something we never could have reached without your expertise. I just went through and completed applying all your edits and am shocked at what an amazing difference it makes. I am so pleased to work with you and know that our final product is exponentially better because of you. From the bottom of my heart – thank you.”
Angela polished our prose and kept us consistent in our theme. Her thoughtful feedback raised the bar on the entire project, and we’ll even forgive her for suggesting the addition of another chapter when we thought we were already done writing! (She was right.) Her work is excellent, she meets deadlines, and she is a joy to work with.”
-Betsy and Warren Talbot, Married with Luggage
Angela edited my book for me and caught all sorts of sloppy punctuation errors and typos. After you look at an ebook for months, your eyes start to glaze over and you just can’t see things anymore. Angela has an eagle eye, though, and I’d definitely recommend her.”-Kristen, The Frugal Girl
I highly recommend Angela for any editing you might need. She did a beautiful job editing my first book and I plan on using her skills again for my next book. She responded promptly to my emails, is professional, extremely competent and a joy to work with. Thank you Angela!” -Kate Sommers, Danny and the Dolphin
