Welcome to Thrifty Threads, AKA Most Stylish Compact-y outfit, where readers model their favorite secondhand clothes.
A Compact-y outfit is used or recycled, from Goodwill, a thrift store, a consignment shop, a yard sale, ebay, craigslist, a clothing swap, or anywhere else you find used clothing.
Today’s model is Erin, and her scores are beyond thrifty, because they were free! She and her husband went to an estate sale and bought this vintage couch for a song. Then, since the sale was almost over, they were giving away the remaining items for free. Erin says this handmade vintage dress fits her perfectly, and the mouton jacket too. Not only is the price hard to beat, these are one-of-a-kind items and that color looks great on her. Wow. Erin has just added one more place to the list of spots you might find secondhand clothes: estate sales. Great finds, Erin!
Erin has been in the real estate industry in mid-Missouri most of her life, following in her mother’s footsteps. Click here to check out her website if you live in the area, or maybe you just like to browse home listings. I got a bit addicted to that when we were looking for house, and I continued it for a few months after we’d already bought one. It was just fun to see what was on the market.
Thanks Erin for that photo! Congratulations on a your great scores at the estate sale, including the couch. Readers, it’s your turn.
